Opening the tablet
Tablets are opened by softening the adhesive around the screen or back cover and working round it with plastic picks. Disconnect the battery first, then unplug the old board, move across any small flex cables and fit the new board. Test charging before sealing the tablet with fresh adhesive.

Try a different cable and charger and clean the port gently with a wooden toothpick. If the tablet still will not charge, charges only at an angle or is not seen by a computer, the port board is the likely fault.
