This battery fits the Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) only. It does not fit the Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) or Galaxy S8, which take their own batteries. The Galaxy S7 Edge is a larger phone with a curved design, so its parts are not interchangeable with the flat Galaxy S7. Check your model number in Settings > About phone, where it is listed as the model number (for example SM-G930F).
What you need to replace a Galaxy S7 battery
- New rear cover adhesive: the back panel is glued on, so you need a fresh adhesive seal, or a new rear battery cover, to close the phone.
- Battery adhesive strips: the old battery is stuck to the frame. New strips hold the new battery in place.
- Basic tools: heat source, suction cup, plastic picks and a small Phillips screwdriver.
Never lever against the battery with metal tools or puncture it. If the old battery is swollen, work slowly and dispose of it at a battery recycling point.
