Loudspeaker or earpiece: which has failed?
Play a ringtone or a video with the volume up. If there is no sound, crackling or rattling, the loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone is at fault. If only normal calls held to your ear are quiet, you need the earpiece speaker instead. Check the charging port area for debris first, as it can block the speaker grille.
