Do I need to solder this Galaxy A17 4G charging port board?
Yes. It is a welding board and must be soldered onto the main logic board. It does not simply clip into place.
Will it fit the Galaxy A17 5G?
No. It is made for the A17 4G (SM-A175F) only. The A17 5G uses a separate board.
When should I choose a welding board over a flex?
When the USB-C socket has been physically pulled away from the board or the solder joints are broken. A flex replacement cannot fix that type of damage.
