After fitting: set up your fingerprints again
Fingerprints you saved on the old sensor will not carry over to a new reader. Once the part is fitted and the phone is reassembled, open Settings > Security and privacy > Biometrics > Fingerprints (the menu name can vary slightly by software version), delete the old prints and register them again. Handle the flex cable gently and avoid folding it sharply, as a creased flex is the most common cause of a failed fingerprint repair.

Will this fingerprint sensor fit my Galaxy A12?
It fits the Samsung Galaxy A12 with model number SM-A125F. It is not listed for the Galaxy A12 Nacho (SM-A127F), Galaxy A11 or Galaxy A13.
Do I need to set up my fingerprints again?
Yes. A new sensor does not hold the fingerprint data from your old one, so you will need to delete the old prints and register them again in Settings.
Why does the colour matter?
Part of the sensor is visible from the outside of the phone. This one is black, so choose it if your Galaxy A12 is black to keep the finish matching.
Is soldering needed?
No. The sensor and flex connect with a press-fit connector, so no soldering is needed. You will need basic opening tools and care with the flex cable.
