Before you replace the board
Try a different cable and plug first, and gently clear lint from the socket with a plastic tool. If the phone still will not charge, or only charges at an angle, the port board is the likely fault. You will need a heat gun or hot plate to soften the back cover adhesive, a pry tool, a small Phillips screwdriver and fresh adhesive to reseal the phone. Disconnect the battery before unplugging the board flex.
