Fitting tips for the Pixel 9 Pro
This is an advanced repair. The Pixel 9 Pro screen is adhesive-bonded to the frame, so patience and the right tools matter more than speed.
- Power the phone off and apply gentle, even heat around the edge of the old screen to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the screen slowly with a thin pick, taking care not to tear the display flex.
- Clean away old adhesive and fit a fresh adhesive seal before seating the new screen.
- Test picture, touch and fingerprint unlock before pressing the screen fully into place.

Does the Pixel 9 Pro use the same screen as the Pixel 9?
No. Although both phones look similar, the Pixel 9 Pro screen is a different part and is not interchangeable with the Pixel 9.
Will fingerprint unlock still work?
The fingerprint sensor sits under the display. After fitting, delete and re-register your fingerprint in Settings, and allow for some difference in unlock speed compared with the screen the phone shipped with.
