Compatibility

How to fit a Pixel 8a screen
The Pixel 8a screen is held in with adhesive, so a careful, heat-assisted removal gives the best result.
- Power the phone off and apply gentle, even heat around the edge of the old screen to soften the adhesive.
- Lift the screen slowly with a thin pick, taking care not to tear the display flex.
- Clean away old adhesive and fit a fresh adhesive seal before seating the new screen.
- Test picture, touch and fingerprint unlock before pressing the screen fully into place.

Is this the same as a Pixel 8 screen?
No. The Pixel 8a and Pixel 8 are different sizes with different connectors, so each needs its own screen.
Will fingerprint unlock still work?
The fingerprint sensor sits under the display. After fitting, delete and re-register your fingerprint in Settings, and allow for some difference in unlock speed compared with the screen the phone shipped with.
