Compatibility
Fits the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE (2020), which share the same Taptic Engine. It does not fit the iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 or iPhone X. Check your model in Settings > General > About before ordering.
Check the settings first
Before you replace the motor, open Settings > Sounds & Haptics and make sure vibration is switched on for ring and silent modes, then restart the phone. If there is still no vibration, or it buzzes and rattles, the Taptic Engine is faulty. Fitting needs the screen removed, so have a suction cup, pentalobe and Phillips screwdrivers and a pry tool ready.

Frequently asked questions
Does this fit both the iPhone 8 and SE (2020)?
Yes. Both models use the same Taptic Engine, so this part fits either phone.
Will a new Taptic Engine fix the home button click?
On the iPhone 8 and SE (2020), the home button click is produced by the Taptic Engine, so a faulty motor can stop the click feeling. Replacing it restores the haptic click.
Is the Taptic Engine hard to replace?
It is one of the easier internal repairs once the screen is open. Take care with the display cables when lifting the screen.
How quickly will it arrive?
Orders placed before 4pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same day from Manchester.
